Rear Peep Sight for SBH?
« on: October 01, 2003, 06:46:02 AM »
A few months ago there were ads in the gun mags for a rear 'ghost ring' sight for SBHs. It was a drop-in inthe rear sight frame I think.

Now that I have my SBH, the ads have disappeared.

Does anyone know this product and have any experience with it on a .41 Mag SBH?

Thanks,
oneb

The one I use on my 357 BH is One Ragged Hole, www.oneraggedhole.com.  I think they are over priced but they work for my old eyes.  You do get 2 inserts.  Good luck.

I have the "One Ragged Hole" peep sight on my 5 1/2" Ruger Bisley 45 colt and it is GREAT.  Sights are accurate and extremely fast to acquire the target.   I have always favored peep sights on rifles and am happy to find them available for pistols.  A fellow posted on the Ruger Forum some time back about making these himself, rather than buying them, but $19.95 doesn't seem that steep for two inserts.  AND, simple to pop in or out if you want to vary peep size or go back to the blade.

Guess I'm just not a peep sight person. I had the "One Ragged Hole" peep sight on my 7 1/2" Ruger Bisley .44 and my "pattern" (to use the term VERY loosely) looked like a shotgun blast. Tried them on my 5 1/2" Blackhawk .357 with the same results. Went back to the blade sights that same day, and it was great to be hitting in the black again. I heard they were great for over 50 eyes, but didn't work for me.

Sometimes you just can't believe what you look like 'til you get your picture took.
