It seems to me,as if Ackley or Cotterman necked the .22 Super Jet to .17 caliber back in the 60s.If I remember correctly it was built on a Martini Cadet.

The 17/357 is the .17 Jet. It started as a 22 Jet necked to 17 and blown out for minimum taper, but the 22 Jet was a .357 Mag necked to 22 with substantial (from the pictures I have seen) body taper for revolvers. There is also a .357 Maximum necked to .17 caliber which is basically a rimmed Mach IV.
There is a 17 Flea based on a .32 H&R case I think. Also a 17 Dart on a .25 ACP. I made a .17 Skeeter on a .25 ACP which turned out to be similar to the Dart but with sharper shoulder angle and less body taper. Gets 1900 ft/s with 1.5 gr 231 and 15gr Berger MEF bullet w/moly.
Haven't seen anything on a 9mm, brass is cheap, why don't you try it?!

Isn't the .32 Mag necked down to .17 called the .17 Flickertail?  Or is it just another synonym?
