Do any of you know why my used savage model 10's saftey is so had to push up and down??Is there some thing i can do to make it easyer to operate,i mean it works fine it just work harder than my stevens model 200 does

I think you mean back and forth, Savage safety's don't go up and down unless they are the 340's.  If that is what you are having a problem with, take a look at the trigger adjustment screw that controls the amount of creep, having that set too tight can cause the safety to operate stiffly.  The stock can also pinch the safety operation.  Larry

Take the barreled action out of the stock and try the safety.  If it is still stiff, the problem might be with the trigger adjustment.

If the safety works normally, the stock is pinching it or otherwise interfering with it.  Check and see if you can find where the stock is binding the safety.  Relieve that area with a file or sandpaper.  While you've got the action out of the stock, it might be a good idea to float the tang.
