Acorn question

Not exactly a garden topic, but since a sprout is a sprout...     Does anybody know how much heat to use on acorns to kill weevils and their eggs without killing the acorn? I used to know, but forgot. Fixing to plant some burr oaks and don't want them eaten before they can sprout. (They make good hog feed and can be processed for human use in a pinch.)

"To treat the acorns for weevils, place them in a vessel of water at 120 F. immediately after collecting. A candy thermometer can be used to test the water. After adding the acorns to hot water, bring the temperature back up to 120 F. and maintain at that temperature for 40 minutes. While the acorns are over the heat, stir constantly to prevent heat damage to those at the bottom of the vessel. After treatment the white oaks should be planted, but the red oak, pin oak, scarlet oak, and black oak should be stored until spring."
