dishonest?

 Heads Up For Canadian buyers.
 I have purchased a Husquarna 1600 Rifle in 6.5x55 from a mail order outfit in Quebec recently.The item  was decribed as having a good to excellent bore and general good condition.
What I received was a rifle with a worn bore that measured .267".

The barrel had a rear sight slot but there was nothing for a front sight meaning the barrel had been shortened.

 The barrel channel looked like a trench. Someone free floated the barrel without having the slightest idea how to do it.

The mounting bolts(screws) were chewed up and the buttplate went through some bad times besides being ill fitted.

 The magazine floor plate had some serious scratches. The safety was an accidental discharge waiting for a bad time to happen. 

For the price asked it was a rip off.

Lucky for me I just happen to have another 6.5x55 barrel
The rest of the mess will probably set me back another 200 bucks to set things right.

What did the firm say when you told them?

I would first get in contact with the firm and talk about the rifle not being what the add stated to give them a chance to make good or refund your money. As far as bore size , war time production show some oversize bore's, so it could be expected .
Well then too I have bought a new Marlin lever 45/70 (.460) years ago,and a winchester trapper in 44 Mag(431) that had oversized bore's .
Contacted Marlin and was told it was within spec. So it is not a perfect world

If there is still a problem then name the firm, post the add if you can , then we well all be gratful for the heads up.

One firm Tradeex have a good stock of Husky rifles in different calipiers and know of many who have bought a rifle from this Montreal based company. A friend bought a Husq.1600 3006 and is very pleased with the rifle.If this is the company then note it can be returned.

You have to give the seller a chance to make it right before you yell holler and scream.
I would much rather hear that you had a problem and they took care of you and made it right.  Every company has a few problems but the customer service after is what may have you or others going back.
