feels good
« on: April 25, 2010, 03:07:19 PM »
have to admit for the last 2 years my shooting has been sporatic. Between the 5 back surgerys and a hastle with work comp it kind of got put on the back burner. Ive been making up for it this summer. Ive been working out a couple 45 colts and have put over a 1000 rounds through them just this week. Feels good to be back in the saddle. Dont let anyone tell you that you dont get rusty when you dont shoot often. First few times this spring were about a joke. Its comming back now though.

Glad to here it's coming together for you Lloyd.  Between work, family and church obligations I don't get to shoot nearly as much as I would like myself.   Been trying to make more time for shooting and to hit the golf links more this summer.

Lloyd, Glad you are better. A bad back is no fun, but shooting is. I went to the farm today and worked out with one of the 617's and a Ruger BH .41 mag. I love to shoot. I am practicing a lot with the .41 mags as I plan to hunt with them this fall.

I know exactly what you mean Lloyd. I've had some issues that have kept me from shooting as much as I used to also, and it shows. Went out the other day with my K22 and was disapointed with my shooting. I did okay but if I don't practice often I lose my concentration and follow-thru when squeezing the trigger. Hacks me off at myself. I know what I'm doing wrong and I just need to practice more. We'll get it back!

Sorry about the back and the hassels at work--they can drive you nuts.
I do hope that all of these issues have been resolved successfully.

I doubt that you are far froma come back but the fun of trying is whatit is all about.

What limitations has the back left you with---I assume you can still do leather work---I am thinking of physical limitations.?

you must have the wrong guy Willam i dont do leather work i have a buddy who does though. I do have my limitaions for most part im good for about a 1/2 a day out shooting. Walking more then a 1/4 mile is out of the question and for the most part i have pain at least at some level in my back all the time. I have a running percription for oxycodone and a few ohter pain meds but try to take them only when absolutely nessiary and for me thats about every other day or so. Scariest thing for me is im 53 and the doctor told me im at full recovery an if anyting age will as with anyone make it worse. I guess it could be worse i could still be climbing poles to put the power back on in the middle of a snowstorm!
