i've come across some old lake city match brass from the sixties the boxes are marked 30cal which i belive is 06 is there anything special about this old brass or anything i should know about it before reloading
Might be 30/06 but could also be 308's , you'll just have to check the measurements . Lake City brass is some of the better stuff around , however most of it have Crimped in primers so you will need to remove the crimp before you try to re-prime them , this can be done a couple ways ,
1) Use a primer pocker Swedge tool .
2) Use a neck chamfer tool and just give the pocker a couple twists .
Some guys don't like #2 , say it takes too much brass from the pocket , myself I like it , Quick and Painless way to do a bunch of case's - cheaper too .
