As a maintenance worker Im usally fixing something or asked if I can help on some problem or another.
I was going through my calendar, I jotting down what I've done that day to fill out a workorder.
I came across several entries that stood out.
Seems the Bigger the company the more prone getting the runaround or bouncing back and forth before between departments before they drop your call,
Urben center large branch dealerships always put you on hold useally a summer job neophite parts person, online computer geek or telephone service tech at a computer the bigger company the more detached from the product they become, useally if its a chainsaw or snowmobile they can be helpfull, if its a Satallite telephone (Motorola) you are wasteing time on the telephone, you get passed from one tech to the next since your battery chargeing problem dosent fit neatly in ther neat little binder of common ills none are thinkers that even have a clue to what they are dealing with.
I am located in a remote area off the road system (Arctic NW Alaska) so when a Tech wants me to ship in a defective generator, truck or ATV to them the freight cost would be so extensive that's not a option.
There was three instances that stood out one was Motorola about crummy Satallite Telephone batteries which dont fall neatly in ther regular cell phone trouble shooting pidgenholes.ended up being the phone tech circus.
Getting a MSDS sheet from Bombarder for a case of fogging oil, better off throwing the stuff away and buying American, You know those guys in Quebec have contempt for others speaking english, kinda infuriating somebody from North America dosent want to speak in English to a customer.
Tiger Loop is another company that I would never want to talk with again (no product support what so ever) they are only interested in selling you a product thats costs over $200 and eventually leaks (you can bank on that happening) I fixed my air leak problem by removing it from the fuel the system completely, Later on fixed the tiger loop by sealing useing 3-M 5200 boat hull sealant on it.
When your 30 miles above the arctic circle with a building with a dead boiler loseing heat you dont have time for that sort of thing.
A cute one was a New Sthil brush cutter that right out the box had a cracked fuel inlet nipple so the carb wouldent suck fuel with out spilling fuel all over, they wanted me to ship the thing back it cost $110 shipping it out and they wanted me to eat the cost of sending it back??? Momma Rex dident raise a fool, said damn the warrenty just send me the part to fix it so i could get my work done, the part took 3 weeks to get to me as it wasent in stock so I repaired the nipple useing 3M 5200 boathull sealant, 7 days latter I had done my seasons cutting in one location and one to the other outlying areas.
US Post Office ...................Dont let me get started on them.
The $168 Pri-mail box of hanger door cables that shows up empty, no cable inside (the box was a Lincoln welding rod box that is 4 thines thicker than a normal box) had been smashed and ruptured spilling its contents someplace (unexplained cable laying on floor should be noticable) sombody as a afterthought thought they should shrink wrap the empty box for alaugh
I have quite a few other instances like this.
