Bonus Permits in intensive areas
« on: August 29, 2010, 04:41:50 PM »
Quick question...can i tag a doe using a bonus permit before filling my regular archery tag?  Or do I need to use my regular archery license on the first deer I take??  I was wondering because with a bonus permit I can only take antlerless deer, but with my regular tag I can take either sex, and do not want to waste my regular tag on a doe if I had a choice...Any help would be awesome!  Thanks guys!

As long as you’re hunting in intensive harvest area you can use your bonus permits before your regular license.
In areas with antlerless permits required for rifle you will have to use you regular license to tag a doe/antlerless. In metro permit 601 you can shoot doe/antlerless till you run out of freezer space....But only one buck per person per year

Thanks for the heads up. I also confirmed this with the DNR office.
