I've had the same problem. 2 winters ago I had to shoo the things off the cover of my hot tub on the back porch. They scratched out the seed corn and beans from my freshly planted garden last spring.
Had to replant everything the next day. Only way I could keep them away for a long time was to let one of my dogs run all night, otherwise they wouldn't stay out in the field or over in the woods where they belong. I guess coyotes don't like em either cause we got plenty of them too.
I always get a good laugh when i think about the guys who spend big bucks on all the goodies the market offers to hunt these things when the hardest part of it is trying to keep from steppin on the blasted things.
Guess I just don't understand city folk.
