Just got a .223 handi
« on: May 21, 2010, 11:01:07 AM »
I finally swapped the .280 Ultra for a NIB .223 w/wood stock and recoil pad. Stamped Harrington & Richardson with an HY prefix. Not stamped SB-2 like the NEF.  Is this still an SB-2?  The barrel accessory program papers that came in the box is dated 2007.

Barrel stampings are irrelevant to the type of frame a barrel comes on, as is NEF or H&R marked frames, the serial number prefix on the frame determines when the frame was made(see the FAQs), if the last 3 digits of the serial number are marked on the left side of the barrel underlug, it's likely a factory fitted barrel.

Yes, I'd say for sure it is a SB2.  Take a peek at the FAQs and Twist Rates, it'll tell ya if it's a 1~9 or 1~12.  I think it's a 9, but I'm not sure.  That'll give ya a clue as to what ammo to feed it.  Good Luck.
