Polish p 64 Feg pa 63 or neither.....
« on: May 02, 2010, 05:57:15 PM »
first question is the polish p 64 and random the same gun ?

I am famiiar with the 9x18 round but not these particular guns. I understand both the p 64  and feg pa 63 will need new springs but both will have an ok dbl action trigger pull with new springs. Is this correct ?
Both will be used military/police correct ?

It seems most who have owned these guns if they upgraded to new springs have liked the guns.
comments by owners or former owners are of  particular interest.

Worth buying as an occational shooter ? What has the price risen to these days ?
I see SOG has the p 64 is the feg still being imported as well?

I have owned the FEG, and various other FEG pistols. I use a .32 FEG for my summertime carry much of the time - I have had zero problems with it, it is reliable, acurate and easy to carry. Some peopel find the 9mmMak a little hot to shoot in the FEG because it has an aluminum/titanium alloy frame, but I didn't have a problem with it - I never changed any of the springs, either - it worked well from the factory, and it was no harder than a DA revolver trigger, certainly better than a Walther trigger..., and it's only if you use it as a DA pistol - you can always thumb back the hammer for the SA trigger. I have owned several FEGS over the last 12 or so years, and I liked them all - they were well made, and thecompany is sadly out of business, so they are not so easy to find as they were.

I hear a lot of good about the Polish pistol, too, but never fired one - if you can handle one maybe you wil find one a better fit than the other..

Good luck..

I didn t realize the company was out of business. I am sure the prices will then be up when I do find one. I kinda wish I had discovered them
 years ago.

Thanks dogngun.

Well Radom is the factory in Poland where the gun was made.  They have seen many changes over the years and are in new ownership.  I emailed them the other day for some gun info.  They have a nice website and some historical data.

I have both guns.  A new hammer spring from Wolf will help the double action pull, but will not make them good, only better.  However the pull is manageble. Just practice with it and be comfortable with it before you carry either of them.  The PA-63 has a better trigger and is lighter (alloy frame), but the P-64 is smaller and easier to conceal.  PA-63 also sometimes has trouble feeding hollow points reliably.

Both are good pistols for the money.  When I bought my PA-63 about 2 years ago they were $99 in new condition.  The market is going dry so they have gone up to about $169.  The P-64 has remained at about $169 for a long time.

I think the best overall deal on a 9X18 right now is the Czech CZ-82.  Much more modern high-capacity design with a great double action trigger.

Here is web site devoted to the P-64.  Also has some data on other 9X18 pistols

Good luck
