Picked up an excellent condition Marlin Glenfield Mdl 60 .22lr with 4x15 scope for $100 otd today at the gunshow....can't go wrong at that price.

I can turn right around and sell to a guy at work for $160....but I'll probably keep it for awhile....put a 4x32 scope on it I got sitting around.

Yeah, I've had a couple bought at shows and turned around and made a profit on them...think I'll keep this one for awhile.

I like the old glenfield models. I think they are better than the newer models IMO. Have been looking for one for two years now and haven't found one. So I think you did well. You used to see several in every gun shop you went into but not so anymore. You found a good deal. Happy shooting!

  I had a 10-22 that was a jamamatic. Worse 22 i ever owned. :(. I replaced it with a Mdl.60. Never had a bit of trouble with it. That thing would shoot anything i stuffed into it.  ;D

I've never had a 10-22 that jammed but I've seen many Model 60s that did.  A good blast with Gun Scrubber in the action usually fixes it.

I have a Model 60, and a Ruger 1022, and have had for many years. Guess what? They can both jam, and they have. But seldom do either, if the action is kept reasonably clean.

I envy you guys who had good luck with your Model 60s.  The one I had was nothing but trouble.  Marlin and my gunsmith each gave it a try after I gave up and none of us got it to function right for any length of time.

I have two 10/22s with match chambers, and rarely have any trouble with either of them.  The most reliable .22 I have is my Dad's old Nylon 66 that is nearly as old as I am and in better shape...

The Model 60 I have is well over 20 years old. It was a Jamamatic when I got it. I simply lengthened the ejector (spring) and problems solved over 20 years ago.

I took the stock off today and completely sanded it down....some nice grainage came up....gonna stain it either Min Wax red mahogany or I thought about just tung oil finish only...don't know how that would work out...probably wind up kinda blondish?
