muzzleloader G2 209x45 barrel cut off
« on: July 04, 2010, 12:28:22 PM »
I have a new never shot 209x45 G2 muzzleloader barrel and my game plan is to have it cut to 14 inches add a scope and a pistol grip set. The machine work I can get for free as my son has a machine shop. This is an extra barrel so am I barking up the wrong tree so to speak  what do you fellows think besides dont do it?

Why the heck not?  Go for it.  Sounds like a fun project.  You'll get some surprising velocities out of a 14" barrel.

I say go for it. I have a 15 inch 209x50 Encore barrel and its a blast to shoot. I shoot two 50 gr T7 and a 200 gr shock wave. Velocity is 1500 FPS.

The encore is heavier than G2 but any way how is the felt recoil. I did have a chance to buy a 15 inch encore barrel and pistol stovk set was very nice and only 300.00 always wish I had but then there are doz. of guns I wish I had bought :) :)
I was thinking on a load of around 70 grns and a 225 power belt. I shoot my G2 rifle 45 cal with 50 grns and 225 power belt and at fifty yrds it is dead on and fun to shoot as a plinker.
