250's DOA Has Beaten Me
« on: June 23, 2010, 05:53:39 PM »
As I said in a couple of earlier posts, I really like everything on the P250 compact,,, but the DOA trigger... well I finally got frustrated and bought a new 45.. not a SIG,,, a Beretta PX4...the trigger is more like what I'm used to on 1911's...I can shoot it much better than the 250 so I'll be taking the SIG to the York gun show this weekend and recoup some of my money...I have a marketing philosophy.. I buy high, sell low and work on volume!   I'll probably regret getting rid of it, but right now I sure like the way the Beretta shoots and my confidence in my markmanship got a welcomed boost... if you are at the show Sunday and see a big bearded "Moose" of a fella; check me out for a slightly used P250 Compact in 45ACP.

Be happy!
      ;D
Both the SIG P250s and the Beretta PX4s are great pistols.
      8)
I have SIG P250s in 9mm and 40, and a Beretta PX4C ["Constant Action" i.e. DAO] in 9mm.
       :)
Over the past 50+ years I have gravitated back and forth between: revolvers; ...
and: SA, DA/SA, DAO, and striker pistols.
      ::)
All have their strong and weak points; advantages and disadvantages.
Now imagine a magic combination or blend of all of these.
No, not perfect, but pretty much the best of all worlds.
That blend is what you have in the SIG P250s and the Beretta PX4Cs.
      ::)
They are pistols with revolver fire control systems.
      :o
The trick to the SIG P250s and the Beretta PX4C is to run the trigger like a revolver;
just keep the trigger moving like you were rolling a barrel over a slab of plate glass ...
smooth, ... smooth, ... smooth.
      ;D
Do some “ball and dummy” practice.
Use laser on wall drill.
Perfect your trigger control.
That is the secret to all handguns.
Nothing else is as important as trigger control.
