wow what a bummer!  I have visited the plant several times when I was in the area. I suppose this will really interrupt the supply of reloading bullets from them and drive the prices higher.

 Good point, they are on the pricey side, it will be interesting to see. We have one dealer in town that stocks Nosler,,I wonder how fast the shelves will clear off. I use some of their stuff, but not so much I can't switch brands.

I'm thankful everyone got out safely.  I made a bullet order last week and two boxes I received are Nosler Ballistic Tip bullets.  They might be a little pricey, but they're darned good bullets.

I use Noslers in my .357s and .44s since they are very accurate and are less monies than even bulk remmies. I too hope the fire don't drive the prices up. I have some .357 and .44 Noslers on Backorder from Midway. They were ordered in mid March when on sale. Last week the shipping date was supposed to be the end of May........they now say June of 2011. I called Midway's customer service last night and they said they hadn't received anything from Nosler lately and because of the fire, they weren't expecting anything for a while.


They said they'd still honor the sale price if they received the bullets within 13 months........

Bend, Ore. June 8th, 2010 – Over 50 Nosler employees returned to work Monday to begin everything from cleaning machinery, salvaging raw materials and shipping finished inventory. They are doing the necessary groundwork of getting the company production back up to speed. The various investigations of “cause and origin” continue. The cause of the fire has not yet been identified.

Keeton King, Nosler’s long time construction contractor is on site and will spearhead the rebuilding process. Mr. King will be using local businesses and hiring local employees for the repair project.

I doubt we will ever hear the true cause, I have my own thoughts but they are inmaterial. I live in Bend and went into their proshop about once a month. I could buy their factory seconds at half the price of retail and they guys in there were friendly and a wealth of knowledge. I have even applied for jobs there twice.

On the news story the next day they had a shot of all 3 generations of Noslers standing on the front lawn slack jawed. I felt bad, they have been in business in the same spot since the 50s. I hate to see somthing like this happen to any business much less one that is truley a local company. They were located in what is now the yuppy/high society side of town and I doubt that 90% of the people even knew what was being produced there. I had doubts they would reopen on the same spot and as much as I hate driving around that side of town I am glad to see that they will. Score one for the good guys
