Anybody get any rain this weekend?
« on: May 03, 2010, 07:04:23 AM »
Just got back from helping a friend move his furniture to higher ground.  His house is 10 feet above the 100 year flood plain.  Good thing he has optional flood insurance.  Many of his neighbors did not bother because they were told they did not need it.

We are high and dry. We had some friends with water problems and wife and son could not get to work in Nashville yesterday. My only problem is no school so i get extra kids to keep track of all day. Did anyone notice no looting reports and people helping each other not waiting for gov. to do it all.

I have only been invovled with one clean up and everyone is coming together and helping each other out.  This is common around here.  Same thing happenned when the big tornado came straight thru Nashville back in 1998.  People drove thru the neighborhoods to see if there was anyone they could help out.  The only thing Nashville needs from the government is money.  Allot of people around Nashville did not have flood insurance because they were told by the Army Corp of Eng that they did not need it and they were not in a flood plain.  My stepmother lost everything.  She did not have flood insurance because they would not sell it to her because she was not in a flood plain.  Her entire condominium complex is totally wiped out and no one had flood insurance for that reason.
