Yes the TCA offered one last year, as one of their Contender special barrels..
A friend also had one Built by the custom shop.  I think it's a 18" full bull Barrel. He was shooting it last fall when we went to the range. Shooting the 40gr V-max factory FN loads  he was getting .500 to .750"  Groups At 100Yards.   Kinda in the same class as the Hornet as far as Report.   Neet litte round.   I have read it is a Hard round to Reload.

I've heard the same thing about it being hard to reload also. Thanks for the info. Sounds like something I might try anyways. We do alot of hornet and K hornet reloading anyways, can't be to much more trouble other than the primer pockets and the weird finish on the factory cases. Do you have any idea what your friend was loading or was that factory ammo?

It is a neat little round that will compete with the Hornet or K-Hornet. It is not any more difficult to reload than the Hornet other than the size of the case. The case also has been necked down to other calibers by a gentleman up north who makes custom barrels

I had MGM make me a 14inch barrel a little over a year ago and all I can say is WOW!!! It rocks. With factory folders it's very accurate. Still shooting and gathering brass to reload.

The reason it is hard to reload is the small space and it being very picky on powder.

The factory powder is True Blue and between low and hot load is sometimes only .4 grains.
Bullet shape, OAL, and weight all come into play with a very small margin for error.

I load it but I keep with factory powder, published loads and bullets. Not something I would want to experiment with.

Doc,

I just oordered a 26 in barrel from the custom shop at TC for the encore. Probably a little over kill for barrel length bu when finished the rifled part will only be 24".  I don"t know if I will shoot to much factory stuff out of mine after finding 500 rounds of ounce fired brass online. probably will try to shoot the 35 vmax or the 34 gr midsouth bullet. I was thinking about w296, h110, or lil'gun out of that longer barrel. I see that shooting times had a couple of loads out of a contender carbine and some of those powders were listed for the heavier bullets. Let me know how some of your reloads turn out.

It's my understanding that the round itself doesn't pose any particular issues to reloading. But the delayed blowback  action of the autoloading firearms so chambered and in particular the chamber itself does. If certain precautions aren't adhered to you can KB a FN5.7 pistol in short order.

In a contender or bolt action you'd simply fireform and neck or bump size accordingly
