Essential equipment
« on: September 12, 2010, 11:03:55 AM »
Bog,
I have struggled the past couple of days getting the flesh and meat of the beaver hides that I froze from last season.    I have them soaking in a tanning brine as I type.   Can you give me a list of essential equipment that you would recommend that might make this task easier?

Big biceps helps tremendously(lol). Some guys clean skin beaver to avoid what you are facing.
Beaver are work, from start to finnish--A good fleshing knife and beam-are essentials,a lot of practice is also needed. I like the necker knife for fleshing beaver,I like a partner that loves to flesh beaver--- even more.
