Ballistic Coefficient of 22LR Bullets...
« on: June 27, 2010, 01:53:27 PM »
I chronographed 4 different brands of 22LR rounds today and I took an average of the velocites...

It was 1221 fps...

I was going to do some trajectory calculating, but I need the BC of these lead bullets...

I see the Hornady 45 grain jacketed is 0.191 and I know that would be different than the lead bullets with a different shape...

But I wonder if that number might be close enough--ain't planning on shooting 500 yards with the 22LR!!!

Anyone know the actual, or close to the actual, BC of these little slugs?...

Thanks...BCB

Siskiyou,

Thanks...

Those numbers seem a bit more realistic than the 0.191 that I started with...

tangob5 & siskiyou,

Thanks again of the info...

I would have never believe there was info out there like that...

But then, I am just a very casual 22 rimfire shooter using a Single Six and a T/C Contender...

Your welcome. :)

I have found the Sierra Infinity six ballistic software an important companion to my chronograph.

That site has so much information for rimfires.  It is one of my favorite forums second only to GBO.
