New find at a local gun shop
« on: June 17, 2010, 01:44:14 PM »
For years I've wanted a Remington Rolling Block pistol to go along with our 45-70 #1 Rifle.  Finally found an Uberti in .357 mag at a local shop.  Just picked it up today after the mandatory wait.  Can't wait to get this baby out to the range.

One of my hopes is to sneak up on one of the .22 Hornet Rolling Blocks that Uberti offered for many years.

This one was at a little "Mom and Pop" store in town.  The shop owner happens across estate sales sometimes and finds some usual stuff.  We bought an almost new Lee Enfield SMLE (last production year) from them.  It's the kind of shop where "green money" talks and a credit card walks.

The rear site is a semi-buckhorn type with a wedge elevator.  Kind of like you would find on an old Winchester or Marlin lever action.  The front site blade is rather tall.  I have not fired it yet, but I think the sites will "take some getting used to"
