British Patrolium now has a monopoly
« on: June 17, 2010, 11:07:34 AM »
I heard someone complaining last night on a talk show, and I thought this guy is out in left field.  But then after I got home ans started thinking about it, I realized he was right.  A ban on drilling is in place, forbiding drilling off shore.  Yet British Patrolium is going to drill relief wells around the one spilling oil.  Once that is done they will be pumping oil out as fast as they can to relieve pressure on the spill, while they try and cap or get the spilling one under control.  Since British Patrolium will pump out the oil, they own the oil, and they will ship it to a refinery and be paid for it.

The way I heard the story was they are going to use directional drilling techniques to drill into the side of the flowing well and pump cement into it to plug the well and stop the flow.
Guess it depends on who you listen to and on what day. Maybe one rig will relieve the pressure,(if that even works), and the other one pumps the cement plug. Hope they don't wind up with three flows instead of one. At any rate the morotorium on drilling is just another stupid move by the President and does more harm and no good. Guess he figured there aren't enough unemployed people down there yet.
Or maybe he IS letting the other rigs sit until the companies hire out down in Brazil and drill for his buddy's oil company. That would be George Soros. Soros and Brazil can afford it now that Obama just threw a bunch of money at them,(I forget how many millions), for oil production in Brazil. Have to hide and watch to find out.

OK, they drill horizontal and hit the flowing well.  They need to then drill above or below so they can get a good flow of mud and cement into the existing well.  Then they pump in mud and cement and manage to plug it.  They will retain an opening to the new well they just drilled and bring the oil up through it under controlled conditions.  The emergency well becomes a production well.

If they fold it will be a financial scam, to hide, protect, and move, assets.  To get out of paying out too much.  Then reorginize under a differant name and continue on as before.  Rog

What sense does it make to stop drilling in the gulf?   Louisiana's people make a lot of money from the off shore Riggs.  From manufacturing to the actual drillers. That’s a lot of money being lost.   Not only that, watch as gas and fuel prices start going up and up again.
We have drilled in the gulf for how long?  I say Keep drilling and do it right.  Don't get sloppy as BP did.    If you don't know why these Co. are drilling so far out in the gulf you should.   If they drill to close to the coast the US Government gets up to 20% of the money from the oil and gas the drilling Co. collect.   That cuts into the profit pretty good.  So these Co. take the chance and drill out Farther and deeper to keep from paying the taxes on their product.
