best way to clean the air gun barrel ?????

whats better for cleaning an air guns barrel , a bore snake or a cleaning rod with brushes/tips ? the bore snake looks much simpler and quicker , but i was wondering if the rod with a brush and swabs does a better job . it'll be in .22 cal. if that matters .

also how often should the air guns barrel be cleaned ? can it be cleaned too much or too often ? and what type of cleaning solutions or sprays are best for air guns ? i will only be using lead pellets .

I just put a patch on some 80LB test fishing line a do a pull thought ever 5,000 rounds or when ever i think it's needed.  Airgun barrel don't need much cleanning, just like a 22lr.
