UPDATE: Just Aggravating........New #1

Hi All,

In a previous thread I wrote about my brand new #1 misfiring straight from the box.  I sent it back to Ruger a few weeks ago and in the meantime, quite a few folks were nice enough to offer their ideas as to what could have happened (thank-you one and all).

Today, I recieved a call from a very nice young lady from Ruger who informed me that the problem could not be repaired....so...would I please select another new rifle!!!!

Holy crap!!!!  I suppose I will!!!  So...which #1 and in what caliber would you choose if you were in my shoes?

My No 1 International in 30-06 shoots 125 gr and 180 gr spitzers in a 1/2" groups all day long, and is pretty dang cool looking.
I think the medium sporters are good looking also.
My No 1 Varmint in 22-250 is just fun to shoot.

They are not listing the Light Sporter in 7x57 now.  The RSI still has the 7x57 which incidentally is what I picked.

Thanks Guys....whatta dilemma.  I like the 7x57, I have a custom Mauser with a mannlicher stock, so I think I'll pass on that one.  I was considering the 300HH, but a 26" barrel...I'd have to handle one first.  There's the 9.3...my good friend Grizz666 has one.....hard to wrap my head around.  Don't want another varminter.

I'll call today and ask if they'll make me up another 35W....I'll wait...no hurry.

Good luck.  I find it hard to be enthused about your odds if it were a distributor's exclusive model.  If forced to select a factory published rifle I'd ask for a wood upgrade to compensate for the loss of exclusivity.

Hey Fish....good point!

I did speak to a very nice young lady today who told me that they've called back all of the rifles in that caliber to get them sorted out and the problem rectified.  Hmmmm...so I told her that my first choice would be to wait until they worked out the problem and then get a new #1 in 35w.  I told her I was in no hurry and that if it took a month or two, that would be fine I'd wait.  She told me thank-you and that she'd get back to me.

I'm Ok with that....really...I'd rather wait and see.

Yep, I think that is a good choice, that is if your not willing to go with something with a bigger hole the length of the barrel.

Kidding aside, the .35W should be a good one.

I just wonder what the bug was.?.?.?.
