Things Coming Full Circle?
« on: June 26, 2010, 04:39:02 AM »
Here is an article I wrote for a First Nation site a while back. I mean to offend no one only to wake  people up.....SH ^i^

Everyone is well aware of how our people, First Nation ( Native Americans), were treated over the years since Columbus made a name for himself by getting lost. Both our People and Turtle Island ( America ) has suffered many, many a wrong. That is not news and I blame no one alive today. You can not be responsible for wrongs that were done long before you were even born. What you can do though is try to make amends and correct those past mistakes. I'll even go as far as to give you a very good reason why you should. What might that reason be you may ask? Welllll my friends, and enemies alike, it's because Turtle Island is now your home too. It continues to be raped and pillaged  by those who do so simply because they can. If that is not reason enough for you to care then try this on for size. The very same wrongs that were done to our People long ago, and still today, are now being done to you as well. You are now making the very same mistakes that our ancestors did so long ago and my People still do. That is putting your trust in those who's only goals are money and power.....AT YOUR EXSPENSE! They are not only continuing to rape Turtle Island and our People, but now you have the privilage of incuding yourselves. Don't think so? Can't see where I'm going with this? Let me ask you, do you watch the news? Read a paper? Now you too are having your homes taken away. Your land being occupied by those from foreign countries. You are losing the very things you once believed in. You are now losing things that you hold dear. Even your own religion is being forbidden in more and more places, just as ours was to us! Your language is being taken away and replaced by many foreign to you and you're being forced to learn them and abandon your own!  Many of those who are your own leaders are selling you out for their own selfish reasons. Just as many of ours did us and still do. You are being forced to fight wars just to try to hang on to what you now have. In a land where you were once rich in so many things, you find more being taken away every single day. You can deny this if you like but the truth does not change because you close your eyes and refuse to see. Don't think you're being sold out? Take the American Dairy Farmer for example. Someone who is  esentual to your way of life. Check the price of milk lately? Think the Dairy Farmer is getting rich? NOPE! Wrong if you thought so. The government dictates how much he gets paid and it's pennies compared to the dollars those get down the line. All the while increasing how much money it takes for them to stay in buiseness. I know personaly of many who have lost their farms, lost their way of life, had their families broken up as a result. The government can regulate how much a farmer gets for a gallon of milk but it can do nothing to regulate how much the oil companies get for a gallon of gas? Come on people, shouldn't you be asking why and demanding some straight answers? Yes, as I see it things have come full circle. Turtle Island is still being raped and pillaged, just as when my ancestors were alive. The only diferance being that now you are included in the casualties. I do not care who you vote for, nor in what office, but it's time you put political parties aside, time a persons wealth should not buy them your vote. It's time a persons verified record came into play, not just what they claim it to be. It's time they were held to their promises. Our People once lost much to broken treaties......broken promises. Now it is you who are losing too. It's time petty differances were cast aside. It's time we all woke up. It's time we fight back. Time we demand better of our leaders.....or would you rather just sit  by doing nothing while all we hold dear is stolen from us once again. The choice is up to each and every one of you. You can have the heart of a warrior and strive to correct so many things going wrong....or you can sit idly by while Turtle Island continues to be raped and you right along with her! Please, demand better of our leaders and let them know you will settle for nothing less!.... So says Spirit Hawk ^i^

+1, and amen.  That's a very clear, well-thought out, and well written message.  All your points are spot on.  It's another clear example that history does repeat itself.

Spirithawk, great post. I know exactly what you are talking about. Some have not had the experiences of others. My ancestors know it well.

Think the farmer isn't one the government dole? Understand the farmer welfare program is far bigger than the welfare programs you think of in slum areas. Check it out on the "EWG Farm Subsidy Data Base". You can look up INDIVIDUAL farmers or by state, county, zip code, or even by town. Their getting MILLIONS of tax payer dollars TAX FREE, and complaining all the way. Check out dukkillr's thread "PARTY OF PARASITES" on this forum, on a recently reported farmer and his sign in Kansas City.
If a farmer is going out now, it's because he's spending it faster than the government can give it to him. I have looked up ALL THE FARMERS I KNOW, in this area, and the Texas Panhandle, and their rakin in the farm subsidies in the hundreds of thousands or dollars EACH, every year. Some aren't but, MOST ARE.
Pretty much everything else Spirithawk says I agree with, but the farmer is much of the problem.

Dee, I was going by those here in Missouri that I've personally seen go down the drain. Now I could be wrong, but I think it's the big dairy farms getting the money. The small familly owned ones just couldn't compete. One of these days we need to share a campfire bro. Even things we might not agree on I'm sure we'd enjoy the heck out of discussing.  :)

Agreed on the fire Spirithawk. The farmers I am speaking of from PERSONAL experience and knowledge, are family farms. I even have family members that are farmers and on the dole. It is a welfare racket far greater that what everyone generally thinks of welfare. If you know any farmers in your area, simply get on the data base I provided, go to the state they live in, and type in their name. It will tell you to the penny what they have gotten since 1995.
It is a PUBLIC RECORD that many (including farmers) don't know exisits. dukkillr turned me on to it. He and I don't agree on much, and sometimes get sideways, but he is sharp, and in some areas of interest, a wealth of information.

Thanks Dee. Most of the folks I was talking about lost their dairy farms about 15 to 20 years ago. Wondering if it was in effect then? I know they made it so hard a a couple friends that they both quit the buiseness.

I know folks that have gone out of business fairly recently. Most times it was due to mis-management of money. Money corrupts, and a lot of money causes a lot of corruption. They usually OVER EXTEND THEMSELVES, and shoot themselves in the foot, while blaming it on something or someone else. The farmers I know personally here have nothing but the best. They will not drive a plain ole Chevy Silverado pickup for a farm truck. They drive the King Ranch, and Eddie Bauer editions to the field. They will use a 4 wheel drive break in the middle big wheel tractor to plow the 12 acres behind me when a much smaller tractor would do it just as easily. They take cruises for vacations, and two to four vacations a year, with each lasting 2 to 4 weeks.
They wear ostrich Lucchese boots, and buy their cloths from the nicest stores.
Their wives drive the special edition SUVs, and the best of the Lincoln Navigators, and go on expensive shopping trips to large cities in groups of other farmers wives staying in HOTELS, not motels.
The farmers have hired hands, which are many times Mexicans that don't speak English, or barely speak English, they sit in the cafe in the mornings for two to three hours, and have the final answer for any topic brought up. They complain about grain prices, and federal regulations one week, and show up at the cafe the next week in their 50 to 60 thousand dollar brand new pickup.
I've known most of these guys most all my life, and went to school with some of them. They are usually the elite in local churches and rarely perform menial work in the church but, pull out the 100 dollar bills and hand then to someone in a Sunday School class letting someone else do the actual work.
Now before anyone thinks I am being judgemental about all this, let me tell you it has gone on for a long time, and many in the community resent their arrogance and tax dollar life style. Mine is an observation based on actual data, and yes, I do resent it being dealt out in such a manner.
Recently a local grain storage operator stole wheat from the local farmers over a period of years that he was storing for them. YES! Storing for them. They hold onto the wheat waiting on the price to go up, and then sell their wheat. The farmers ranted and raved for months that it really hurt them in the pocket book. Then we learned that they had quietly and individually BOUGHT THE GRAIN ELEVATORS all over the county for their own personal use. Must have not hurt them as bad as they claimed in the cafe.
Like I said. Its' PUBLIC RECORD, and regardless of what the farmer says, you can look at the TRUTH on the data base I provided. There are some that don't take the money, but MOST DO.

Can't say as it surprises me Dee. A honest man is rather scarce these days.
