And they won't ever stop.  It is a genetic failing in that particular breed of human, the liberal and the democrap, that they fail to understand reality, which is why so many of us constantly call for a reality check on their actions and statements. 

This is sort of like their mothers not calling them to come in and out of the rain as they have simply not developed the where-with-all to apply a common sense approach to life and, were it not for the tolerance and permissiveness of this society, they all would have caught a cold and pneumonia and died off a long time ago but no, they are still a genetically deficient pita. 

I firmly belive that most teachers are good people and apply a good dose of common sense to how they go about their lives, but when you mix politics with left leaning school administrations and pc principals, you get the kind of nonsense you read about.  I think we should bring back the old public works programs and take the teachers and school boards and administrators and pricipals and put them to hard labor work during the summers.  I think that once they learn how to do something productive they might rethink their politics.  jmtcw.

Toy soldiers run afoul of school's weapons ban

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Christan Morales says her son just wanted to honor American troops when he made a hat decorated with an American flag and small plastic Army figures.

But the hat ran afoul of the district's no-weapons policy because the toy soldiers were carrying tiny weapons.

"His teacher called and said it wasn't appropriate because it had guns," Morales said.

Morales' 8-year-old son, David, was assigned to make a hat for the day when his second-grade class would met their pen pals from another school. She and her son came up with an idea to add patriotic decorations to a camouflage hat.

Earlier this week, the Tiogue School in Coventry sent the hat home with David after class. He wore a plain baseball cap on the day of the visit instead.

Superintendent Kenneth R. Di Pietro said the principal told the family that the hat would be fine if David replaced the Army men holding weapons with ones that didn't have any.

"The issue for us was, can it be done in a way that didn't violate the zero-tolerance for weapons?" he said. "Nothing was being done to limit patriotism, creativity, other than find an alternative to a weapon."

Di Pietro said the district does not allow images of weapons or drugs on clothing. For example, it would not allow a student to wear a shirt with a picture of a marijuana leaf on it.

The principal "wasn't denying the patriotism," he said. "That just is the wrong and unfair image of one of our finest principals."

Morales said her son was inspired to honor the military after striking up a friendship last summer with a neighbor in the Army.

Banning the hat "sent the wrong message to the kids, because it wasn't in any way to cause any harm to anyone," she said. "You're talking about Army men. This wasn't about guns."

 Gee whilikers..
     Several generations after my ancestors parted from Roger Willims & co and  pioneered Coventry, they left said Coventry, RI  back about 1820 and travelled to this area where I live as pioneers. We were natural "gun-toters" then and every generation since.
   I would hope to think they were not the last gun owners to live in Coventry, especially since the family name is still popular in the town.

Were you Blacksmiths ? Or Coopers ?  Some of the Smiths out in Coventry were said to be the finest Sword Smiths on this side of the pond back in the 1700s. The Coopers of that time were who fitted the wood ,and built the stock's for the firearms .
Some very fine firearms resulted from this combination.

     Although in recent generations, I know there were some smiths..myself and my dAd and back about 1860 one had a shop which forged the iron parts for sleighs, wagons and buggys in a nearby local town, I believe most were farmers in about 1820. The history of our first progenitor here in the new world (about 1670) is somewhat unclear, he may have been one of the Scots sent to the Saugus Iron works.
  Of course, the Coventry we speak of here is Coventry, Rhode Island..rather than it's namesake in England. I was not aware of any sword making in RI.

I was always fascinated at the level of expertise shown by some of the early post renaissance Smithys. The Coventry i spoke of was the one in RI , a segment of Pawn Brokers had a man who had some of the early silver ware made by the Revere Family of Boston in it .
It was there that they said the Revere family had indeed also made swords for the Elegant ,well to do Gentleman of the time.  
That service was a common money maker for a lot of the Silver and Iron Smiths of the time .
From your avatars appearance ,i would love to watch you do that if that is you . I have tried to do that ,but i certainly wouldn't wish to hire my knowledge other than if i were building a simple hinge.
Have you ever forged steel from raw ore before ?  I did have the pleasure of watching Ken Onion do that .
How he knew what percentages of the raw ore to add ,and how to pound it into a steel with a Rockwell Hardness that was right on the money is beyond me
In long island NY ,the company called LRB  ,hand forges their billet blanks to build their M14SA rifle receivers out of.  A trip to that family owned factory  is well worth the time if your ever in NYS.
