project Colt, Come to Papa
« on: June 25, 2010, 03:26:09 PM »
Ok! I just got a call from Marshall Chase (the Gun Doctor). He said my two Taurus Gaucho's are sold. That is a mixed blessing. I really enjoyed those guns, they were excellent and I will miss them. BUT now I can go and pick up my Colt from layaway tomorrow! Yeah!!!  44 Man

Tell them goodbye (I kept the stags. One pair will fit the Colt)

44Man, Colts are special, you are going to have a bunch of fun putting this one together just like you want it. Congratulations! Keep us informed as to progress.

If you are anything like me, once you had decided to sell them you really had divorced yourself from them. At least you have good memories of the past relationship.
And now!!!, you gotta be excited!!!

Geeeze Lewis!   :o  That Colt must have really caught your eye if you sold your Gaucho's to get it!  But that's okay!  Indulge yourself my friend!   ;D

I have to say I will miss the Gaucho's.  Don't ever let anyone bad mouth a Gaucho, my three have the smoothest action for a 'stock' factory single action that I have ever handled.  And they were all very accurate!  BUT, I only use my blue 5 1/2" one for shooting.  I had only put a couple cylinders of live ammo through each of the polished stainless guns.  I used them mostly with a double gun rig for show when I preformed with the Christian Cowboys.  And then they only shot about 6 blanks a weekend.  Well, I'm sorry to say that after a very good 5 year run, the Cowboys are dissolved.  Too many family obligations for most of the guys to be able to guarntee enough performers to give good shows this year.  So I no longer needed two 'shiney' guns that I didn't shoot anyway.  So I have sold the rig and the guns.  If the Cowboys get together again (as we plan to for one show a year), I'll just use my Colt or Gaucho and a single holster rig.  44 Man

Goodonya for all that....too bad it has taken a break, but good things have a habit of popping back up. Im sure it provided some great opportunities for witnessing.
