I have a prewar 22cal. outdoorsman that has a star after the serial @ on the bottom of the grip.do any of you guys know what this means? Thanks.
Hello
If it is
a Five sided star, that means
it was back to the factory for some work. Possibly a
refinish or internal parts problem but that is how the factory marked them once they returned for service work. If you
remove the grips you will more than Likely find a date code on
the side of the grip frame as 4-1-55 which would mean April 1st 1955 is when they worked on it. They also commonly stamped the date codes as this
4.1.55 which means the same. I hope this helps, Hammerdown
