does anyone know if that is legit?  I've been notified of it by the wounded warrior something or other via phone calls (they check up on me every few months) and it's came up the last two times.  supposedly people reapply their cases to the marine corps and a new board considers the injuries and compensation of that vet and raises it if that committee feels that vet got shafted.

I'm afraid to even get involved with the marine corps again, don't want to get another two year paperwork battle started.

I don't blame you one bit for being cautious! I'd advise getting ahold of a VA Advocate to check into it for you. No names even need be mentioned.

yeah... I got blown up my first year in and had a ride through hell for my next three plus a year after getting out.  I've got a dozen or so things, most of which are directly caused (not related, but caused) by an ied blast to the face left limbs yet I got a whopping ten percent from the corps.

plus the military doesn't have to follow informed consent laws so if a physical (or more) would be required I'd definitely defer and end up leaving my case in limbo.

Squib:  First of all have you gotten with the VA?  No one told me I needed to talk with the VA when I retired.  The AF had given me a 10% disability rating and I thought that was all I would ever get.  Then I ran into one of my Old First Sgts.  He was a VA rep, and he had me come in and see him.  It took a year, but it came back as 40% disabled.  So if you have not seen the
VA, by all means go and see them.  At 10% you really have nothing to lose, go for it and don't worry about the time.  It will take a year, that is always the way it has worked for me.

The Wounded Warrior program is a good program.  My wife works for Army JAG and she sees the good that comes out of that program.  She applied for a position to work in the Wounded Warrior program for the Army, and she would be a good person for that position.  But the Army decided to use a Wounded Warrior in that position.  My wife feels that is a good thing.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.
