Remington VANTAGE 1200

i have a rain check from Bass Pro----$99.94 ( the one they have on sale now)  REMINGTON VANTAGE 1200 and they said it would be in a couple days. Looked at the display model, it felt good in the hand.
Anyone have this model???...likes vs dislikes.........thanks for your help---  btw 1200fps

Not much to tell. It the same gun as the Crosman Quest, which in turn is really the Chinese made B-18/B-19 rifle. Do a web search, lots of information available if you look.

I'm wary of many of the new models that Crosman and especially Gamo seem to be turning out at prodigious rates.  They hype them up to be fast because most people feel that faster is better.  There is a lot of marketing hype that goes into those two product lines that I don't buy into, consequently I don't buy their products either.  Not that they don't or haven't made good products but they are pushing a product I like (air guns) in a direction where the laws of physics tend to work against you.

If I were in your situation I'd put it towards an RWS 34.  Great, accurate gun with a long history of reliable service.  Enough aftermarket gizmos to satisfy any gear junkie.  Street price on a 34 should be $175-200, I don't know what BassPro will want but you may be able to find a display model for sale.
