Dan Wesson Panther 45ACP Question For The 1911 Forum
« on: December 17, 2003, 03:17:41 AM »
Does anyone know anything about the Dan Wesson Panther Series 45 ACP?? I was in my local gun shop and they had a DW Panther that they wanted either $545.00 or $595.00 for. I looked at the bushing on the front of the gun and there was some blueing missing. Looks like someone could have been a little careless with a bushing wrench but they said the gun was new and came to them from DW that was and it was a machining mark!! They were selling it as a new gun but I have my doubts at this point. I have not heard of the Panther series and there is nothing that I could find on DW's web site. The slide was smooth and the trigger seemed to have some creep in it before it let go. Any help you can send my way would be appreciated. I put this same thread on the Dan Wesson forum but haven't got a reply on it.  Thought by putting it out on the 45ACP forum somone might know something about this auto.  Thanks for all of your help in the past and I know in the future!!

If it's not on the Dan Wesson home page it might be a prototype. They sell their engineering samples on gunbroker.com and danwessondirect.com. If you check them out you'll find 1911's in 9mm, 10mm 38 super and lots of different finishes. They all come with the full factory warranty.
