The 35 Whelen is back in the house.* AGAIN*
« on: July 12, 2010, 01:52:51 PM »
I thought the 3rd time was charm, but now I hope the 4th trip to Remington will make this thing shoot. As some of you have read my post about the saga of the 35W, maybe it's a done deal. I know if it doesen't shoot this time, it's a done deal with me.
This time they said they "adjusted the timing" what ever that means. ::) At least I got 5 fire cases with it this time. Why did they not adjust the timing the 2nd and 3rd time I sent it back? It has been raining most of the day and rain predicted for the nex two to three days, so I have to wait to give you an update on this thing. Keep your fingers crossed for me. ;D

Well, at least it didn't take em long to get it back to ya. I test for FTFs in my back yard, stuff a bunch of rags into a 5 gal bucket, load sized and primed brass and stick the muzzle in the bucket and pull the trigger, saves on range time!! 8) I got mine so it fires all of them, 20 for 20 on the last test with Rem 9½. I went to the range today hoping to shoot the Whelen Improved, 260 Rem and the new 6x45, no range officer there, gate was locked, waited for a while since it was just after opening time hoping he was just a little late, called and was told the range officer was MIA and he didn't think they would be open today, so I bagged it and spent the rest of the day working in the yard.  :-\

Got my fingers crossed for ya Jim.  ;)

Somehow Tim, that doesn't seem a fair trade-off to me.

By the way, thanks for the FTF home test technique. Should go in the FAQs.
