New Ruger 22/45 problem
« on: July 10, 2010, 08:29:05 AM »
My bro-in-law bought a 22/45 last week.  Shot through several mags, had a great time.  Problem has developed...

After dis-assembly and cleaning, the gun will fire two times, then the trigger becomes "inactive".  You can pull it 5 or 6 times...nothing.  Then, all of the sudden it will fire, without pulling the trigger.  Change mags, do it again, etc.  Same result.  Sometimes just light pressure on the inactive trigger will cause it to go off.  Sometimes you ahve to keep pulling it.

We all know how frustrating it is to re-assemble a Mark.  Did he bend or twist something when re-assembling?  We compared everything with mine and it looks fine.  Any help will be appreciated!

Sounds like something isn't right.  Dis-assemble it again and try it again.  Just a FYI, they don't need to be dis-assembled for cleaning after every use.

Thanks, but i think he called Ruger.  I think he re-assembled it about 30-40 times.  Tried firing on two different occasions.  Something must be buggered up somehow.
