While out on a business trip was wandering round town & found a Navy Arms-Pedersoli replica of a Remington Rolling Block Carbine, 22" barrel, 45/70, brass trigger guard & crescent buttplate. I would say 'good' condition. No scratches or gouges, stock is immaculate, but bluing on barrel is a little worn, plus previous owner had mounted a scope (scope not included). Tang sight has been removed, shop owner has mounted a simple rear sight on the barrel dovetail.

This is not one of the 'lightweight' rolling blocks I've read about. This thing is VERY substantial. Half-round, half octagon bull barrel. The shop owner weighed it for me - 8 1/2 lbs.

He's asking $600 for it. If I can talk him down to $500 or so, I might go for it.

I'd love to hear any thoughts or advice or comments from you guys. thanks!!!

The only advice I can offer is:

1. Make sure the action is functional.

2. Curious on the barrel length

3. And if you decide otherwise, pm me the location.

Personally, I'd buy a Handi Rifle .45-70, shoot any and all loads in it and save more than half my money.  You're gonna be stuck with factory trap door loads with it.  The .45-70 is really a long range rifle in modern equipment and ammo.  In a replica antique carbine, it's not.
