I would highly suggest you call John Linebaugh and get his recommendation on a load for that bullet.
You might be surprized at what is said.
You do have  the smaller New Vaquero model and not the large Vaquero that was the first one made?
Give him a call.  It will be worth it.
I shoot a RCBS 270 SAA bullet in mine that weighs 275 gr from Lyman #2 alloy.
And BTW the charge of H110 that he recommends with good results that he shoots in his New Vaquero.

Look at the side of the cylinder frame and see what's roll marked?  "Vaquero" or "New Vaquero"  Just as easy...look at the serial number prefix - it's is a 3 digit prefix (510 or 520 if I recall correctly) it's a New Vaquero.  That's the name "New Vaquero"    There are no old model Vaqueros.  All Ruger single actions since 1973 have been New Models.

The Single Six is built on the small frame.

WAH, The New Vaquero is suited for the Colt loads. It's slightly larger than a Colt & Ruger suggest stay within SAAMI pressure ranges. You can still get well over 800fps with Colt loads using 255gr bullets & they will handle most needs with a six-gun. I too use the RCBS mould 45-270-SAA, it's a very good bullet & I think you'd be happy with it. Lee also makes a mould that throws a 255gr RNFP that has a metplate you can almost dance on. It's a great bullet also.
Good luck in you search for a load, The Speer #14 manual lists loads using the 45-270-SAA mould that are within the pressure ranges of your gun.

Just call the man as Andy told Aunt Bea.  You will be surprized what he uses.
It will be worth the time.
Oh yes,  If he doesn't answer he more than likely will call you back as soon as he has time so don't use a blocked number.  He is good like that.

As quoted from your post about posting loads.
"If you wish to post a load you use you MUST post a loading manual by name and series and a page you got it from."
No one has posted any loads.  I am sure if they do it will be within your guidelines.
Me suggesting to the OP to call John Linebaugh is not posting a load and or loads.
But you are right it should be on the reloading forum.
I am using Linebaughs suggested load but as you can see I haven't posted it.

Have a terrific day and may your air conditioner keep running.
