Do you load the same 125grn boolit in the 9mm and 38 Special?

Does anyone load the same 125 grain cast boolit in the 9mm, and .38 Special, and .357 Magnum?

I'm  hoping  to  find  a  boolit  design  that  casts  truncated  projectiles  I  can  size/lube  to  .356  to  use  in  the  9mm,  as  well  as  [size to]  .358  to  use  in  the .38 Spl / .357 Mag.

Any suggestions, please?

i have hand-loaded the same bullet in .380 9mm .38 spl and .357 mag. with varying results. as the nominal bore sizes vary slightly .002 , the accuracy fell off with the undersized bullet in the bore. i have found that a 100 grain cast round nose bullet  over a very light charge does work for plinking loads in the 9mm, 38 spl and 357 mag and for full power loads in the .380
but for a specific mold, i dunno.

Thank you, Scibaer.  I don't shoot the .380 and so not a boolit or bullet that light.  I'm not surprised the differences in caliber or boolit would be as small as two one-hundredths of an inch.  Actually what I was expecting.

Should have added most of my boolits are or will be from wheelweights.  I'm thinking if I could find a boolit design that would work well for the .38 I could size / swage it a tad smaller to fit the 9mm.  125 grains isn't my go-to choice for the .357,  but I always try to make my reloading choices the most versatile that I can.

Hopefully Veral and other casters - reloaders will comment too.

Yep , you will need the advice of guys who are casting lead and working with molds. thats not me, not yet.
  from my experience, and i could be wrong but i think you will need to use a 9mm bullet that works in the 38 spl.
a .38/.357 bullet may be too long for the 9mm case. but if you get a 9mm sized bullet, you may find one that shoots fair from a .38 spl sized barrel.

i had a few 9mm's that i knocked apart for the primer and bullet. it was a 147 grain, jacketed flat nose. i reloaded them in a 38 spl case with a small amount of unique powder and shot them out of my 357 mag.  they worked ok for a plinker load, just to be shooting and fiddling around.
 
going the other way, using a cast .358 bullet may be to long , depending on what design the bullet is, not giving you very much case capacity left to work with powder wise..but if you are limiting the weight to 125 grains, you should have enough volume to run a descent amount of powder in the 9mm case.

Any 125 gr. 38 bullet will work in both.  If you want to use only one mold I would suggest a heavier one.  I've shat a lot of 158 gr. .358 bullets from a 9mm with exc. accuracy.  Just yesterday I shot some .356 bullets in a Ruger Bisley .357 and they shot just as well as the .358s, both shooting into 6" at 100 yds. with most shots in 4".  You can test them in your 2 guns but probably you won't find too much difference.  Get a .358 mold and size down if necessary.

you should have no problem at all and chances are you won't need to size differently. I shoot a lee 158 rnfp sized to .358 out of a vaquero a sr9 and a ruger p95. slug your barrel and if your gun will chamber it you are good to go. its always better to have a boolit that is to fat than one that is too skinny

I shoot the lee 121 truncated cone bullet in my .38 spl pistol and .357 mag rifles.  I have the Lee 6 cavity mold and it makes a lot of bullets fast.  The bullet is very accurate out to 200 yds, yes 200 yds!  I have a couple of 10 shot groups in the 5-6 inch range at that distance.  It groups less than 2"at 50 yds out of my .38 spl handgun and when I had 9MM handguns it shot great there.  It looks a little weird in a .38 spl or .357 mag case but it sure does shoot.  My Lee mold drops wheel wt + 2% tin bullets at .358 out of the mold.  Try it you'll like it.
