Barrel Accessory Program
« on: August 16, 2010, 09:52:49 AM »
Does anyone have recent experience with the barrel accessory program?  I am considering sending in a frame for a 223 superlight barrel, but I don't want to have one of the 6-9 month experiences some have had.

Have the problems that seemed to have plagued their operations after the move calmed down?

Someone recently reported they have no accessory barrels, all reports should be in the Ilion Satisfaction Poll, there's a link in the FAQs.

Last month I was told 1st or 2nd week of August. Called today and I was told check 1st of Sept. Can't wait to get a 44mag barrel and have some fun.

just talked to customer service yesterday,  they have very few if any barrels in stock.  from what the rep told me they are strictly focused on production guns at this time, and dont have a date that barrels might be available

I got a 357 mag barrel a couple months back, and was very pleased with all aspects of the transaction. I posted a blow-by-blow description of the process at the time. Look up my posts if you want "the rest of the story", lol, or go to the Ilion satisfaction sticky thread.

According to their factory reps, that barrel is gone.  I don't know if that will change, but they don't, as of now, intend to repair them or make them.  Mine was returned to the dealer, when I told them I didn't want a different caliber, but luckily the dealer came up with one to replace it with from their remaining stock that was right on the money.  8(  Sorry to repeat the bad news.  If you can find them at places like Davidson's or CDNN or Bud's, you can still get one from stock in the BC right now, but once they are gone, that'll be all.
