i had one for a while. for me it made the gun ridiculously heavy. it was very accurate though. you also have to pay better attention to cleaning because it leaves a nasty film inside the receiver. if your looking to play around and get one at a good price id say maybe get one but as a dedicated muzzleloader gun id rather have an optima or omega.

I have this most unusual accessory barrel.  The open sights are weak but local smith soldered on a Weaver type scope base for me.

The amount of black soot that gets into the action is amazing!  I recommend professional cleaning after close of the season.

I bought a second hand CVA Accura for muzzle-loader season.  The costly professional cleanings won me away from using my 500.  But I'm keeping it because it's a rare gem.

CVA Accura is a sleeper - they're much better than competition but pricing is affordable.  I bought my used one for $215. and it shoots dixie cup size groups at 75 yards.
