Going on a 1967. Kwik Site seems the cheapest. These just screw in right? No D&T needed?

Not very familiar with side mounts on the 94, though I have shot a few.  Didn't like the feel of the scope being off-set to the left.  Most I have seen required drilling.  I wonder if anyone makes a scout mount for the barrel.  I would think that would point more naturally.

Personal opinion is a good thing, and everyone is entitled to one.  The hard part is separating informed opinion from someone who is just blowing hot air....

Leupold and Redfield used to make scout mounts. See them on Ebay. Requires drilling of the barrel band and taking off the rear sight.
