243 handi finally got here

I posted a couple of months ago, that I had bought a 243 handi, but had to get it to my house from my brother's. Well he finally got up here to see me, and brought the rifle. I bought the gun for my 12 yr. old daughter. To my delight the stock had already been cut (professionally) and fit her perfect. I let her shoot the gun this morning, and after adjusting zero, she shot a 5/8" 3 shot group at 75 yds(100 gr. Hornady's). I think the deer better look out!

It sounds like your Daughter & her rifle are doing well. Which 100gr Hornaday bullet are you using? I'm using the 100gr BTSP # 2453, it shoots very well. I like it a lot. It's not priced at premium prices either.

Frank, I'm using the same bullet as you. A friend let me have some to try. I bought some 95 gr. Partitions for hunting, but have not loaded them yet. If, for some reason they won't shoot, I'll probably buy a box of Hornady's.

I've used Hornaday bullets in one caliber or another for years, I've always had good results (accuracy & terminal) with them. They don't break the bank either as some pricier bullets do.
The 95gr Nosler partition should be a great bullet, they are a bit higher priced than the Hornaday, but might hit close enough to the same point of impact to hunt with them & not have to rezero & practice with the Hornadays. Lots of stuff to try when we handload isn't there? Good shooting.
