Sitka Spruce

Oh boy! oh boy! Just ordered my new arrows from Old South. They will finish out around 575 grains before I install broadheads. I will post some pictures when they arrive. It will really be nice to shoot wood again.

Yeah, My friends think I'm a little off cause I like heavy better than fast. I want 'em to stagger when I hit 'em ;D ::)

I'm shooting laminated birch and at 29 inches they are 642 without heads, so I know what you mean about liking heavy.  A heavy arrow carries some punch and it also is quieter coming out of the bow as it helps absorb vibration, so it is a win - win!

Yeah, I like heavy. And with quite you don;t need fast.Deer don't duck the string or jump the string. And the whole idea is to get really really close anyway ;D

I have shot wood for years so I know I will love them. ;D I have been shooting alum. cause I had them and I had to spend my money on other things I needed rather than wanted. :( But I love the sitka spruce arrows. Old South made my last ones 4 years ago. My last spruce arrow broke when the hog ran off with it year before last. Found the hog and all 3 pieces of the arrow.

All Hawks Kill

I sure would love to get me a set of arrows like yours for my 45# Selfbow.  I had the oportunity while up at the MT Youth Bowhunter Camp to shoot just one cedar arrow that Brodie Swisher had, which I tried to trade him out of, but he wanted to keep that one  :'( but that one did not have a self nock.

Someday.

Cottonwood, I get my hunting arrows from Bob Burton www.whisperingwindarrows.com  I make my practice arrows from split hex shafts I buy from Bob. He makes real quality arrows, you'd have to ask if he'd make self nocks.

I have a dozen 45-50 spined shafts in the shop........

You say when and I'm sure we can work something out.

Very nice.  Now what bow are you shooting those out of, poundage wise etc.

I have one wooded shaft that I have been playing with, that is exactly 30 1/8th" long from taper to taper point.

It flies like a dart, I love it.

Shooting a 55# longbow, but couldn't tell you the name on it for the life of me ::). Picked it up in a shop that was closing and got it 65 percent off. Decided to let my antique damon howatt rest this year and shoot longbow. Bit slower than the Damon but the arrows fly true and speed ain't everything.
