How long will a Plinkerton last?

I bought the revolver to just be a plinker.
A shooter with a short tube to shoot alongside my 6 1/2" Single Six. To shoot just as much as I did the Ruger.
Well I have shot mine loose after just a year and a half. 25 to 75 shots a session, maybe once or a week, sometimes only 3 cylinders full. The little gun was well lubed and cared for.
The hammer is hanging-up and not firing consistantlly it locks up.
Worn-out potmetal.
THe Ruger? Still shooting like the day I bought it!
Ya can't imitate quality...

You do get what you pay for. it CANNOT be any other way. The money you spent on the El Cheapo sixgun would have gone a fair way to buy you another Ruger Single Six that your GG grandkids could be shooting someday.

I believe all rugers are built much stronger than they half to be. They seem to last forever.....
Rimfire or centerfire they represent a great value. While not really target quality the single sixes will outlast most owners...

My Ruger Single Six Bisley has held up very well the 8 years I have had it. I think a cheap pot metal gun has its place if you want something that you won't shoot very often, a barn gun, car gun for pests, etc.
