12 ga heirloom

Okay I have a H&R 12ga 32in full choke single barrel shotgun....

the only markings on the gun are on the reciever and behind the trigger on the stock.

the barrel is just the H&R trademark

the serial number is the marking behind the trigger: 46152

any thoughts at all on the model or especially what year it was made it belonged to my great great grandfather. I know it is about 100 years old or so. I want to know for sure. This is my weapon of choice when I hunt and I have harvested 2 bucks and a gorgeous 80lb hog as well as a few varmints

What are the markings on the receiver and is there a letter in front of the serial number?

the trade mark on the reciever is above the trigger and the serial number has NO lettering.... this is why i am so confuzed. Nothing has been changed this gun was bought by a family member straight from a general store or somthing like that a very very very long time ago. I know nothing has been modified.

Best I can tell ya is it was made before 1940 since it has no serial number prefix letter.

According to the info on the link I found out it is a model 1900 and was manufactured between 1901 and 1916. thanks so much tim!

I have my grandpa's .410 which he bought for $6 from the hardware store here when he was 15 years old.  That was 1935, nice sleek little shooter.  Gotten lots of cottontails, squirrels and pheasants.    He has a pre-40 16 ga. also, but we're not sure what family member that one came from.
