Substituting w296 for H110
« on: August 06, 2010, 10:48:13 AM »
Since the burn rate is almost the same, can I substitute h110 load data for w296?  I thought I remember someone saying that.

Thanks

The only difference EVER in H-110 and W-296 was the lot number. They have always been the same powder.

+1. They are the same, don't let anyone tell you differently.  Here's an email from Hogdon:

OK, let me make this as clear as possible. The only difference between
H110 and Winchester 296 is the label on the container. There is no
other difference.

Same powder always have been BUT they are NOT made by Hodgdon or Winchester. They are made by PrimeX. I believe Primex is now operated by a third company tho it used to be a subsidary of Winchester.
