Interesting picture. I saw a buck out in West Va. years ago that looked black. I was in a vehicle so I didn't get a good look at it, but it was definitely mostly, if not totally, black.

That's a cool pic. Like you said, if that's a buck he would be awsome big, black and a massive B&C rack on him. Only strange black critter I ever saw was a black coyote running with a couple that were the regular color.

Melanistic is the term, in south Alabama it's a fairly common trait, I've seen several pics of deer with dark chocolate antlers and black looking coats.

i agree people will shoot anything down here(southern indiana).had 5 white deer in one bunch and the land owner shot
 them on depression permits. never will under stand the depression permits if you shoot it you should have to  keep it are give to someone who will use it. u shoot one during season and not take it they can fine you for it

I shot and lost a melanistic white tail buck quite a few years ago at my uncles. I was pretty bummed I didn't find him. He seemed to be ok though as he was circleing me in the corn field when I tracked him.
99% of all Lawyers give the other 1% a bad name. What I find hilarious about this is they are such an arrogant bunch, that they all think they are in the 1%.
