COMPUTER LOCKING UP?????

Since Wed I've been locking up here quite a bit. Sometimes I can read several threads and even post then the screen flashes and I'm suddenly dead. A black bar appears at the bottom of one of the ads and I'm locked up. I belong to other boards but this one is the only one doing this. I can then click to another site and everything is fine, til I come back here. Anybody else having this problem??? Hope  this goes out.  POWDERMAN.

I too am having the same problem but my right button that you click on just runs up and down real fast and the bottom of screen just flutters real fast, if I click all those little X close buttons it goes away or I have to clock off and than come back on.
 I think it was mentioned that the pop up adds were the problem.

Locked up again  after I made a post, had to leave the board and come back, we'll see if this goes out. POWDERMAN.

Appears to be the pop up from the description of the black bar. What operating system and browser are you using?

You could try a different browser to see if it helps, must be a setting in your browser or a software conflict, I have no problems with FF3.6, IE8 or Chrome, the pop up happens once a day on all three of them, then doesn't happen until the next day, first time I log in. You can download Firefox or Google Chrome free.

TIM. This is the only site it does this on. Same everything for years. Quite often I get a netflix at the bottom that I have to bring up and then kill. Don't know how to change any of that you mentioned cause everything here is the same. Thanks for trying. Charlie.

When's the last time you ran windows update and cleaned your PC up, dumped cookies and internet temp files? Current anti-virus and malware scans? Lots of possibilities that can cause problems without you making any changes.

Mine has froze up a few times today too. Only happens here. Norton 360 just did a full scan yesterday. My pointer won't move or do anything. It doesn't last long and then it starts working again. I checked my cordless mouse and it was okay. I didn't notice if there was anything at the bottom of the page or not. I have connection problems sometimes so I didn't think too much about it, till now.

Mine worked for a while and now it's doing it again. Quits and starts and quits again. I had a heck of a time getting here to post. A few minutes ago I had to backspace my way out to the browser and there it worked okay. Came back here and it stalled again, on and off.

I just went to my browser page and deleteted my browser history and came back. It is working good so far......Go figure!

  Mine was locking up yesterday too. I do have google chrome so don't think it is the browser. I ran my SuperAntiSpyware scan and it worked great after that. No lock ups. That finds things that Add-Aware doesn't pick up.
