Hello,

I am new to this website, and I have enjoyed reading all of the posts. I have a question concerning differences in the T/C Omega and the Encore. I am looking to purchase a new 209 .50, and I like the design of the T/Cs. I know they are accurate, but b/t the two guns, which is more accurate, and is the Encore worth the extra $$$. I am looking at the SS/Laminate Omega and the Blued/Walnut Encore. Any advice and opinions are appreciated. Thanks.

The accuracy is essentially a "push." I had both-- kept the Encore.

It depends if the interchangable barrels are important to you or not. If you just want a ML the Omega is the way to go. I have a couple of both in 50 cal and the Omegas produce slightly higher velocities and are more accurate at max loads.

I currently own my second T/C Hawkins. After shooting it this year and considering hunting with it this fall, I'm very close to buying one of the Omegas. The ease of cleaning, shotgun primer, stainless steel, camo stock, ability of mounting a scope easily, and the shotgun priming system( which seals the primer from moisture as good or better than most I've seen), and being American made, has my heart a flutter.
