50 Round Drum Magazine
« on: August 10, 2010, 11:32:22 AM »
I've seen a few 50 Rd drum magazines, for a 1911, at some recent gun shows.
Has anyone here tried one?

Think that may make a bulge on a CCW?

I have a metal wind-up 29-round drum magazine for 1911's.  It's made well and works well but I really don't have any practical application for it.  It might work better for a Marlin Camp 45.  I bought it by mail order from two nice old fellows in Texas right before the high capacity ban that we suffered through in that earlier time that D's were in control.  Those fellows were overwhelmed with orders as a result of the pending ban and sent me notes apologizing for delays (even though I was in no urgent need for the magazine).  I hope they're still around and properous.

Not if you wear a full length, north pole exploration type, goose down parka.   ;D
You might stand out a little bit though, since we have temperatures reaching 104 degress.
Here in Texas, CCW means CONCEALED.

Some of us have our own bulges, so another one may just fit in.
