Thanks , It will be attached soon enough . My Morko has a dark color to it already ,shooting and all .

I hope the Cherry darkens as advertised to a nice dark red .

MT and me will conduct some tests with it . Can you hit anything ,? If you do will it hurt ? Can it penetrate armour ?   

How these gonnes where employed is very interesting to me . Close up for one shot then go to the sword ?

OR did they just put out as many flying lead balls as they could  ?

I can see advantages to either direction . Do you want to punch armor and kill a Knight up close and then become a grunt ?

OR would they rain down balls all day ?

It will  be fun  seeing what these 'thingamoroos ' can do .

I would think a charging armored knight wouldn't give a gonner more than one chance to shoot, so he must have been a front rank combatant until he discharged his piece, then retreated to the rear for some kind of auxiliary weapon.  Combat then resumed its traditional nature of swinging, spearing and beating, with some number of knights no longer participating.

I believe I've read that thread with the morko about a week ago. I do not remember seeing anything I didn't already know.  I think it was a Russian with a nice enough colour image of the left side of morko.

Very nice tiller!  Got to admit that my first take on the head was Maori not Viking though. Give it lots of direct sun and it will darken amazingly.  Watkins Oil finish (natural) will help too.

Well it is done . Today I added some hammered copper onto it to protect the wood behind the Morko .





There is also one at the toe to protect the wood .







Mike was kind enough to let me use some copper and some neat little brass plated brads !



Now to go and try it out .
