Hi all, first time checking out the archery section down here. I'm still fairly green when it comes to archery hunting. I'm going into my 3rd season of deer hunting with a bow. Up until now I have used a bow that I was given to see if I liked archery. Its old, slow, and loud.. but still fun to shoot. Golden Eagle Protech. So anyway, I decided to make the leap and buy my own good quality bow that I feel will suit all my needs without breaking the bank. I dont have to have the very best, fastest, most expensive bow on the market. I just want good quality that will get the job done. Well my wife (i think in a moment of insanity) has given me the "OK" to get a new bow. So needless to say I dont want to give her the opportunity to change her mind. I've been reading tons of reviews... but the bow brand that catches my interest is Forge.
www.forgebows.comA buddy of mine from college suggested em. I have looked and looked and looked and can't really find a solid BAD review on them. I called up there and to my surprise... the owner answered! Seemed very friendly, knowledgeable, and didnt try and push his most expensive bow on me.. he actually recommended the cheaper of his selection. The Woodsman. Has anyone heard of/used one of these bows? They're made in New Berlin, WI. They seem to be of great quality and have a great warranty/customer service history from everything I've read.
Any insight on this company is appreciated. Some people have told me to go with a more "trusted name brand company", but I feel like I am just paying for a name. I am all for supporting smaller business. I just want some personal opinions aside from my friend who swears by em. He doesnt have the model that i am looking at so I can't shoot it and see. The closest dealer is 2 hours away I believe so I wanna be certain I'm not wasting my time if I go test one out.
thanks,
Glockfan
